In-Home Services
There are 3 ways to access in-home services: 1. Through home and community-based services (HCBS) or non-Medicaid services: Depending on the county of service, HCBS provides services such as personal care (assistance with tasks like bathing and dressing), home-delivered meals, and homemaker services. Please note that these services are often limited to a few hours per month and meals are often frozen. This service is available to anyone 60 and older. There is great demand for these services and as such there are often waiting lists. People who have greater socioeconomic needs are given higher priority. 2. Through the Elderly and Disabled Medicaid Waiver Program (EDWP) and 3. Through private pay options.
- Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) by County
- Home and community-based services (HCBS) are intended to help older adults remain independent in their own homes. Services vary by county, but may include home-delivered meals, homemaking, personal care, caregiver respite, senior centers, kinship care, transportation, and home modifications/repairs. Some services may have age limits (usually 60+), and there are often waiting lists as funding is limited.
